Scientists have found that SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, can be detected in aerosols for up to three hours and on plastic and stainless steel surfaces for up to three days but now there is shifting messaging about how the virus spreads on contaminated surfaces.
In North Carolina as the state awaits for a decision on Phase Two of relaxing the stay-home restrictions; it was recently reported that coronavirus case totals rose by roughly 700 cases on Tuesday.
NC DHHS reported 19,700 confirmed cases of COVID-19, up 677 from Monday’s total. Fatalities jumped to 691 people statewide, climbing by 30 deaths.
With recent data showing that there have been over 1.5 million confirmed COVID-19 cases in the United States with 86,070 total deaths. In a nation where there have only been 12.2 million Americans tested with a population of over 331 million people: it would seem that it would be wise for business owners to err on the side of caution and increase their facility hygiene services in order to protect the health of their customers and employees.
