Historic Restoration
The Hagen House is a 1½-story log house on a stone foundation that has been sided with weatherboards. A single-story, off-center front porch has a wood shingle shed roof supported by small square wood columns. The front herringbone wood door is flanked by six-over-six window with wood shutters. A center brick chimney extends through the wood shingled roof. Attached to the south façade is a reconstructed brick bake oven with a tile gable roof and brick chimney. In 1953, the house was acquired by Old Salem, Inc. In 1957, the house was restored to its 1828 appearance.
